The Year of Percy, also known as the Great Leap Forward[1], the Newtekhian Revolution. 2006 saw SUTEKH become a money-making club, with regular events and excessive amounts of Awesome for the first time in living memory. 2006 also saw SUTEKH gain an enourmous haul of total memberships and retained newbies, something that the club had not seen for several years. This is generally held to have resulted from implementation of Percy's Vision for SUTEKH.
This year, Sutekh was awarded Best Club by the University of Sydney Union.

This O-Week was the most highly-organised of any O-Week, ever. Stall volunteers were limited to two or three at a time, to avoid over-crowding, and all stall volunteers were briefed previously in how to sign members up, without offending them or scaring them off. Julia, with several dedicated helpers, spent several days making hundreds of geek-themed badges, which doubled as a fundraising mechanism as well as a very effective way to advertise our extensive range of interests. We also had the best sponsorship deals in several years, and all these factors combined to give us a very healthy membership.
At the moment, SUTEKH probably has more regular events than any other society on campus. Beer and Cards, on Wednesday afternoons, has contined on from last year, as has Friday night Pizza and Games. To add to this, SUTEKH has been holding weekly TV series screenings on Thursdays at 1pm (first Firefly, then Carnivale), and Julia was running a fortnightly book and comic discussion group on Thursday evenings until lack of attendance and uni commitments put it on hiatus. There is some talk of reviving this next year, possibly to be held somewhere on campus. Another successful regular event has been fortnightly-to-monthly LAN nights held at the Central Internet Cafe on Elizabeth St, Surry Hills, which were organised by Tom.
List of Regular Events:
Shortly after mid-semester break in semester 1, SUTEKH held a General Meeting to redefine certain elements of the SUTEKH Constitution, particularly changes to committee positions, to better reflect the changing nature of SUTEKH and to help us stay afloat once VSU begins next semester. There was an enthusiastic turn-out to the meeting, with many members engaging in debate. The position of General Committee Member was abolished, and the new positions of Sponsorship Officer and New Member Officer were created.
