Is engaged to Wiley.
Joining SUTEKH in 2002, Lauren did not become an actual member of SUTEKH until second sememster of 2003. At the end of 2003 she and Wiley began their still on going relationship. 2004 Lauren was Vice-President under the reign of Spamy. 2005 saw Lauren reign as president until she resigned at the end of first sememster due to on going conflict within the committee. She no longer wants anything to do with the administering of the club.
Lauren is one of the few SUTEKHers to be Studies in Religion major and honours student. She completed her honours in 2004 and wrote her thesis on the divisions in the reconstructionalist religion Modern Germanic Heathenry. Her main area of interest is Modern Germanic Heathenry, as well as the pre-Christian religion of the Germanic peoples, however this interest has also been expanded to all revivalist or reconstuctionist religion, and tribal religions. In 2005 Lauren began her M.Phil looking again at Modern Germanic Heathenry, as well as Radical Traditionalism and the French New Right, however this topic was years ahead of its time, and as such in 2006 she changed her thesis topic to focus on Religion and Popular Culture. This new topic focused on the computer game Age of Mythology and how it represents the deities of the ancient Greeks and Egyptians as well as the Medieval Norse and what this could teach people about pre-Christian religion of these cultures and this general issues of portraying non-JCI religions in popular culture. Due to this change in topic Lauren is among the small but significant number of SUTEKHers to have done a Thesis on a computer game. She submitted her MPhil thesis on 31/08/07 and is relieved to have it finally over with. The topic of Religion and Popular Culture is likely to continue into her PhD.
